Cancer Relay

What a night and what a success......!!!! the weather was fantastic with temps in the high '20s through the day with setup starting at around 2pm. Organizers expected around 30 teams and received over 70....wow...... so sites were a little cramped.

The Keg offered a great steak dinner for a very low cost. kudos to them!!!!

The relay started around 7pm with a 'Survivors Lap' , which was a lap for the cancer survivors who were participating.....from infant to 90...... lump in throat as we participants cheered and clapped as they took their lap....

Entertainment all night .....listening to U2 at 4am while cheering those on the track....cool. Singers on the main stage..... Jazzersize at 2am......campfire songs.......while people were constantly on the track......mine was the 12mid to 1am shift.

at 10:30pm the lighting of the honour bags.....surrounding the track small white bags with candles and names of those who were honoured either in pen or crayon..... a true emotional moment.....

watched the sun come up and all participants did a final lap......

as a team (The Royal LePagers) raised over $5000.00 and overall over $200,000.00........man that was fantastic. Thanks you to those who supported me by donating to a great cause.
